Sree Perumal Industrial
Training Institute, established in 1988 at Palavakkam, Uthukottai, Thiruvallur
District, conducted its Convocation Ceremony for ITI course graduates on 04th
October 2024 at 10:30 AM on the institute campus, celebrating its pivotal role
in empowering rural youth with vital technical skills and self-reliance in
alignment with India’s mission of strengthening its skilled workforce.
The ceremony was uniquely
highlighted by the live telecast of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s
historic address, announcing youth-focused initiatives worth over 62,000 crore, with the PM-SETHU (Pradhan Mantri Skill
Enhancement and Transformation of Harnessing Unemployment) scheme as the centrepiece,
including a massive 60,000 crore investment for ITI modernization, inspiring the
graduating students to embrace skill-based education as a tool for
nation-building.
The event was graced by the
distinguished Chief Guest, Dr. R.
Krishnakumar BS(Optom), M.Phil, Ph.D, FBDO(O/S), revered as the Father of Optometry in India, Advisor –
Optometry Services, Sankara Nethralaya, Former Principal – Elite School of
Optometry, and President – Ophthalmic
Science Professional Council, NCAHP, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare,
Government of India, who emphasized the transformative power of continuous
learning and professional skill development
Guest of Honour, Dr. A. Mahalingam, Chief Executive
Officer – TwinTech Healthcare Services, Chennai, an Educationalist, Healthcare
Professional and Strategist with over 30 years of dedicated service in
healthcare and academics, who inspired graduates on the integration of
vocational education with industry readiness and meaningful societal
contribution.
The ceremony also witnessed
the participation of Shri N. Navaneetha
Krishnan, Chairman of Sree Perumal Industrial Training Institute, who extended
a warm welcome to all, delivered the vote of thanks, and reaffirmed the
institution’s mission of producing technically skilled professionals.
The convocation concluded
with an inspiring interaction between the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour
highlighting the importance of skills across all professions, followed by a
group photograph, making it a proud and memorable day for the graduates, their
families, and the community.
