Medical Icons Honoured by TwinTech Healthcare Academy, Chennai, in Prelude to
Doctors’ Day 2025"
In India, National Doctors’ Day is
celebrated on July 1st every year to honor the legendary physician and
the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, who
was conferred with the Bharat Ratna on February 4, 1961. This
significant occasion serves as a tribute to the tireless service of medical
professionals and their immense contribution to the wellbeing of society.
As a prelude to Doctors' Day 2025, TwinTech
Healthcare Academy`s Dr. A. Mahalingam presented honorary awards
to 30 distinguished doctors from across India in recognition of their lifelong
commitment and exemplary service in various medical specialities.
These awards were given ahead of Doctors’ Day as a mark of gratitude and celebration of the efforts of
doctors who have dedicated their careers to improving health and saving lives.
Here is the list of the award recipients:
Dr. T. S. Surendran, Chairman & Director –
Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology, Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, was
presented with the Lifetime Excellence Award in Ophthalmology for his
outstanding service to pediatric eye care.
Padma Shri Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam, Chairman of KG Hospital,
Coimbatore, received the India’s Healing Visionary – Lifetime Honor in
Medicine & Humanity for his philanthropic healthcare model and public
service.
Centenarian Prof. Dr. S. Ramaswamy, Retired Professor of Anatomy
and Hypno-Psychotherapist, Chennai, received the Living Legend of Anatomy –
Lifetime Honour for his unparalleled academic legacy and mentorship in the
field of anatomical sciences.
Padma Shri Dr. V. Mohan, Chairman & Chief
Diabetologist, Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre, Chennai, was honoured
with the Lifetime Excellence Award in Diabetology for his pioneering
contributions in the field of diabetes care and research in India.

& Advisor – Occupational Optometry Services and Former President, Indian
Association of Occupational Health, received the Lifetime Legacy Award in
Occupational Health & Vision Sciences for his pioneering contributions
to workplace wellness.
Dr. A. Panneerselvam, Chairman & Chief
Diabetologist, Aruna Diabetes Centre, Chennai, was conferred the Lifetime
Excellence Award in Diabetology for his decades-long commitment to diabetes
management and patient care.
Dr. K. Janardhanan, Former Medical Consultant of
Mohanur Co-operative Sugar Mill and Senior Family Physician, Namakkal, received
the Lifetime Excellence Award in Occupational Health for his
long-standing dedication to worker health and community medicine.
Prof. Dr. Su. Thillai Vallal, Founder and Senior Consultant –
Interventional Cardiology, Venkataeswara Hospitals, Chennai, was bestowed the Lifetime
Excellence Award in Cardiology for his distinguished contributions in
interventional cardiology and medical education.
Dr. Republica Sridhar, Founder & Managing Trustee
of RMD Pain and Palliative Care Trust, Chennai, received the Lifetime
Excellence Award in Pain and Palliative Care for her exemplary service in
end-of-life care and compassion-driven treatment.
Dr. C. Balaji, Consultant Rheumatologist at Ramachandra Medical
University, Chennai, was recognized with the Excellence in Rheumatology
Award for his expertise and dedicated patient care in autoimmune and joint
disorders.
Dr. S. Murugusundram, Founder & Medical Director
of Chennai Skin Foundation & Yesudian Research Institute, was honored with
the Lifetime Excellence in Dermato-Trichology Award for his impactful
work in dermatology and hair research.
Padma Vibhushan Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Founder & Chairman of
Apollo Hospitals Group, Chennai, was presented the Legendary Leadership in
Indian Healthcare Award in recognition of his transformational role in
shaping India’s private healthcare ecosystem.
Dr. P. Ranganathan, Consultant Ophthalmologist at
Maharishi Eye Hospital, Namakkal, received the Visionary Excellence in Eye
Care Award for his contributions to quality ophthalmic services in rural
regions.
Rtn. Dr. K. V. Ravishankar, Chairman & Medical
Director, Usha Kiran Eye Hospital & Charitable Trust, Mysuru, was conferred
the Lifetime Leadership in Vision Care Award for his philanthropic and
clinical services in eye health.
Dr. K. Sivakumar, Head of Paediatric Cardiology, The Madras Medical
Mission, Chennai, received the Icon of Excellence in Paediatric Cardiology
Award for his outstanding surgical outcomes and commitment to paediatric
cardiac care.
Dr. R. Balasubramaniyam, Chief Nephrologist, Kauvery
Group of Hospitals, Chennai, was presented the Lifetime Excellence Award in
Nephrology for his leadership and service in kidney care.
Dr. Patta Radhakrishna, Director & Senior
Consultant – Surgical Gastroenterology, MGM Malar Hospital, Chennai, received
the Lifetime Legacy Award in Surgical Gastroenterology & Minimal Access
Surgery for his surgical precision and innovations.
Dr. Selvi Radhakrishna, Senior Consultant Oncoplastic
Breast Surgeon, Chennai Breast Centre, was honoured with the Icon of
Excellence in Women’s Cancer Care Award for her specialized expertise in
breast cancer surgery.
Dr. V. Sarath Babu, Professor & Head,
Department of Physiology, SV Medcity, was presented the Excellence in
Medicine Award for his academic leadership and contribution to medical
physiology.
Dr. Sai Surendar, Group Head – Emergency Medicine, Dr. Kamakshi
Memorial Hospital, Chennai, was recognized with the Best Doctor Award for
Leadership in Emergency Medicine & Healthcare Management for his work
in critical and emergency care.
Dr. K. Neminathan, Chairman, Coimbatore Child Trust Hospital, was
honoured with the Lifetime Excellence in Pediatric Care & Medical
Education Award for his dual role in healing and mentoring the next
generation of physicians.
Dr. V. Kanagasabai, Former Director of Medical
Education and Dean of MMC/KMC/DMC, was presented with the Transformational
Leadership in Medical Education & Healthcare Excellence Award for his
institutional reforms and educational leadership.
Dr. G. Kumaramanickavel, Managing Director – MYGENEDx
Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, received the Genomic Visionary in Ocular Research Award
for his trailblazing contributions in ophthalmic genetics.
Dr. G. Jayakumar, Chairman & Director, Dr. Jayakumar’s
Polyclinic, Namakkal, was conferred the Excellence in General Medicine &
Chronic Care Award for his decades of service in family and internal
medicine.
Dr. M. Venkateshkumar, Senior Family Physician,
Sendamangalam, Namakkal, received the Excellence in Community Family
Medicine Award for his long-term commitment to accessible and affordable
care in rural areas.
Dr. A. Sreenevaas, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon & Managing
Director, Ravina Hospital, Chennai, was honoured with the Orthopaedic
Excellence & Leadership Award for his surgical expertise and
institution-building efforts.
Dr. Saseendar S, Senior Consultant – Arthroscopy & Sports
Medicine, Chennai, received the Global Excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery
& Sports Medicine Award for his specialized work in joint and athletic
injury care.
Dr. G. Jayaraj, Managing Trustee – Occupational Health
Foundation, Chennai, was honoured with the Legend of Occupational Health
& Workplace Safety Award for his extensive service in industrial health
and safety.
Prof. Dr. K. Ramnarayan, Pro Chancellor – Sikkim Manipal
University & Emeritus Professor – Manipal Academy of Higher Education,
received the Excellence in Medical Education & Academic Leadership Award
for his impactful leadership in shaping health science education.
Padma Bhushan Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Founder & Chairman,
Narayana Health, Bangalore, was bestowed the Nation Builder in Affordable
Healthcare Award – 2025 for revolutionizing healthcare access and
affordability.
